VAT Registrations & Returns
With Ease
Only businesses can be registered for VAT; individual consumers cannot. A business must be VAT registered if turnover exceeds the current HMRC threshold, but can also be registered voluntarily if it would be beneficial to do so.
You can file VAT return through HMRC's own website, or you can use an online accounting service like RES Accountants. We will help you accurately fill in your VAT return, and then submit it directly to HMRC on your behalf.

What VAT schemes are available?
Flat Rate Scheme
This scheme can save money and simplify your VAT process. It is applicable for businesses with a turnover up to £150,000, and must be applied for and agreed by HMRC before being used.
Cash Accounting
Can delay payment of VAT to HMRC to match receipts from customers and payments to suppliers. Applicable up to £1,350,000, though it can sometimes increase accounting complexity.
Retail Schemes
Designed to simplify the record keeping specifically for retailers. There are various specialised schemes available depending on the exact nature of your retail operations.
Partial Exemption
This is not really a scheme but a VAT status. This occurs if some of a business's income is exempt from VAT (such as certain rents). Calculations are then needed to establish if some or all VAT on costs is blocked from being reclaimed.
